Family of God

2000 years ago a baby was born into a normal human family and his parents named him Jesus. Many families have dark pasts that no one talks about. Does your family include incest, adultery, prostitution, murder? Jesus’ family does. The Bible is honest about it and asks you to be honest as well, so that you can see the sins of your family and know that we all need a Savior. Jesus welcomes you to be adopted into the family of God—the church—and together, as a family, grow to be more like him.

God is a grace filled, loving father who wants to save and include more children into The Family. Jesus is at work reconciling us to God as sons and daughters and to one another as brothers and sisters. In effect Jesus is our perfect older brother and he doesn’t ever want his Fathers family to stop growing.

As the Christmas season approaches many people come face to face with loneliness and heartache because of their earthly families. So let’s welcome and invite people into God’s family; because the Church through Him is the only one who can offer grace, forgiveness and love. And we can because of the sacrifice our older brother made on that first Christmas long ago.

For Him,
Pastor Corey
